The Inland Valley Development Agency (IVDA) hosted an open house for residents at risk of displacement to learn more about the Airport Gateway Specific Plan (AGSP) and how it would impact their livelihood.

Many residents who showed up ready to voice their concerns were disappointed by the chaotic format chosen to engage community members. Another major concern was the lack of translated materials and access to interpreters. Signage displayed at each station with educational information was only printed in english. Community organizers from SB Airport Communities @sbacommunities present at the event helped translate for over 30 residents.

Currently through The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), it is time to comment on environmental, housing, and job standard concerns related to the project.

CEQA is important as it informs residents and decision-makers about a project. The document is available for review and comment until February 13, 2023 at www.ivdajpa.org.
